After taking into consideration the Directives issued by the BC Health Authority in its implementation of policies to counter COVID-19, VCA has decided that, with immediate effect (March 17), all meetings that normally and regularly take place at the church premises at 54th Avenue and Fraser Street will be temporarily discontinued until further alternative arrangements are in place.
These regular meetings include Prayer Meetings every Tuesday evening, Chinese and English Fellowships every Friday evening, all Sunday Meetings, Gospel Fellowship, Bethel Fellowship and YAYA Meetings.
"...Nor forsaking the assembling of ourselves together..."—Hebrews 10:25
Although we are unable to gather together, we truly believe that our fellowship in spirit will not be deterred. Although we are physically separated from one another, we are still one in the Lord. For the time being, we can only fall back on today’s web technology to arrange some meetings. If any brother or sister that has any questions regarding the use of computers or smart phones to get on to the internet, please get in touch with Brother Ding (604-322-1772).
The new arrangements for Meetings:
Lord’s Table—Brothers and sisters can have the Lord’s Table at home with their families (do not invite other brothers and sisters to join widely—the number present should not exceed ten (10) persons. If unleavened (no yeast) bread or small disposable cups are required, we will try our best to help, in which case, please contact Sister Weidi Ding (604-322-1772) for assistance.
An online Breaking of Bread meeting will be available to brothers and sisters starting this Sunday, March 29 at 10:15am:
COVID19 has spread rapidly around the world, and the situation is extremely serious. Please pray for all those who are in authority, that the Lord may take control and grant to them wisdom and strength to deal with the situation, such that the virus can be properly handled and controlled.
Thank the Lord that although brothers and sisters cannot gather together, we can still fellowship and worship God together in spirit. Please pray that the Lord will use the online meetings to keep the saints free from any environmental restrictions, that we may, just as usual, continue to pray together, comfort each other and edify one another, looking upon the Lord to fulfill His purpose.
Now that brothers and sisters have to stay at home due to COVID19, may the Lord teach us how to make good use of our time to draw close to the Lord and read His Word, and constantly seeking to grow in the knowledge of Him.
Please remember the elderly brothers and sisters, and those who are physically weak. May the Lord keep them in His presence.
Please pray for the gospel friends. In time like this, may the Lord stir up their hearts to earnestly seek Him and His precious salvation, that they can be saved in time.
When liaising and caring for members by and of cell groups, for brothers and sisters and for Gospel friends, please do so by using the internet to avoid physical face to face meetings with one another. In this way, it is hoped that we can be strong in the Lord (Eph 6:10), staying at home, spending more time with the Lord, praying, studying His Word and singing hymns. We all should be vigilant about our own hygiene and take care of our physical health.
The above arrangements for various meetings are all temporary arrangements. We look to the Lord for His mercy and infinite power that normal meetings will resume at an early date. Any changes to the above will be promptly notified to brothers and sisters and announcements made on the Assembly’s website.
